Clinical Authority
Why Your Dentist Is the Best Provider for Facial Neurotoxins
The muscles of the face — the frontalis, orbicularis, zygomaticus, depressor, mentalis, and the full perioral complex — are studied in greater anatomical depth by dentists than by any other healthcare provider. Your face is our domain.
Cosmetic neurotoxin injections require a precise understanding of facial muscle layers, nerve pathways, and how expression muscles interact. Dr. Albadran combines that anatomical expertise with specific facial aesthetics training — completed through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE).
Unlike a medspa visit, your cosmetic appointment can be combined with your regular dental visit — same appointment, same chair, no second trip.

About the Treatment
What Is Cosmetic Neurotoxin?
Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA), Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA), and Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA) are botulinum toxin type A neurotoxins that temporarily relax targeted facial muscles — smoothing the lines and wrinkles that form from repeated expression, and refining facial features with precise placement.
When used cosmetically, neurotoxins don’t freeze your face — when placed correctly, they soften dynamic expression lines while preserving natural movement, resulting in a refreshed, rested appearance rather than an altered one.
At Richmond Dental Spa, cosmetic treatments are performed by Dr. Albadran personally — never delegated, always physician-level attention.

Understanding FDA-Approved Use vs. Off-Label Use
Not every cosmetic treatment on this page is FDA-approved for that specific use. Botox is FDA-approved for three cosmetic indications — forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Xeomin and Jeuveau are FDA-approved for frown lines only. The other treatments below are considered off-label use: a legal, recognized, and common practice in cosmetic and dental medicine, supported by clinical literature and professional guidelines, but not independently reviewed and approved by the FDA for that specific purpose. Dr. Albadran will review this with you directly as part of your consultation and consent process.
| Treatment | FDA Status |
|---|---|
| Forehead lines | FDA-Approved (Botox only) |
| Frown lines (glabellar / “11s”) | FDA-Approved (all three) |
| Crow’s feet | FDA-Approved (Botox only) |
| Gummy smile correction | Off-Label |
| Lip flip | Off-Label |
| Brow lift | Off-Label |
| Chin dimpling | Off-Label |
| Neck bands (Nefertiti lift) | Off-Label |

Cosmetic Indications
What We Treat
Each treatment area requires a different understanding of underlying muscle anatomy. Dr. Albadran’s approach is conservative and precise — enhancing your natural features, not replacing them.
Forehead Lines FDA-Approved
Horizontal lines from repeated frontalis muscle contraction. Precise placement relaxes the muscle while preserving natural brow movement and expression.
- Smooths horizontal expression lines
- Natural result — not frozen
- Often combined with brow lift
Frown Lines — “The 11s” FDA-Approved
Vertical glabellar lines from corrugator and procerus muscle activity — often making a rested face appear angry or tired. The one area all three products are approved to treat.
- Softens vertical lines between brows
- Most commonly requested area
- Can be combined with brow shaping
Crow’s Feet FDA-Approved
Radial lines from orbicularis oculi contraction — a muscle dentists know intimately from its role in perioral anatomy.
- Softens lateral eye wrinkles
- Preserves natural smile expression
- One of the most rejuvenating areas to treat
Gummy Smile Correction Off-Label
Targeted LLSAN neurotoxin limits upper lip elevation — exposing less gum on smiling. One area where a dentist’s smile mechanics knowledge is irreplaceable.
- Reduces excessive gum display
- Minimal product — highly precise
- Result lasts 3–4 months
Lip Flip Off-Label
Orbicularis oris relaxation causes the upper lip to gently roll outward — fuller, more defined appearance without filler.
- Subtle upper lip definition
- No filler required
- Pairs beautifully with LipLase
Brow Lift Off-Label
Relaxing depressor muscles allows the brow to naturally elevate — more open, rested eye appearance without surgery.
- Opens the eye area naturally
- Often combined with forehead treatment
- No scalpels, no recovery
Chin Dimpling Off-Label
Mentalis muscle activity creates irregular pebbly texture. Neurotoxin smooths this for a cleaner, more refined chin appearance.
- Smooths “orange peel” chin texture
- Quick, minimal treatment
- Often overlooked but high-impact
Neck Bands — Nefertiti Lift Off-Label
Platysmal band relaxation reduces vertical neck cords and lifts the lower face — a more defined, youthful profile without surgery.
- Reduces visible neck bands
- Lifts and defines the jawline
- Non-surgical neck rejuvenation
The Anatomy Behind Precise Placement
Every injection is placed with a specific muscle, depth, and vector in mind. Incorrect placement creates drooping brows, asymmetric smiles, uneven expressions.
Dr. Albadran’s dental training provides an unusually complete map of the facial musculature — particularly the perioral region and the full nerve and vessel anatomy of the face.
- Frontalis — forehead lifting and expression
- Corrugator / Procerus — frown lines between brows
- Orbicularis oculi — crow’s feet and lower lid
- LLSAN — gummy smile and lip elevation
- Orbicularis oris — lip flip and lip lines
- Depressor supercilii — brow position
- Mentalis — chin texture
- Platysma — neck bands and jaw definition
